Cairo llegó a la perrera en mayo de 2026 y se estimó que tenía alrededor de 2 años en ese momento. Cairo fue encontrado en una cantera y llegó a la perrera en un estado horrible. Según la información que recibimos, sus heridas fueron causadas por un producto utilizado en la cantera. Debió de sufrir muchísimo dolor. Además, estaba extremadamente asustado, y los rescatistas tardaron mucho tiempo en conseguir ponerlo a salvo. Durante un tiempo, le daban comida regularmente mientras ganaban pacientemente su confianza, hasta que finalmente pudieron capturarlo. Actualmente, Cairo está recibiendo tratamiento para el picor, su piel y sus heridas, y también para la leishmania. Su recuperación está siendo lenta y, desgraciadamente, la perrera no es un entorno adecuado para que pueda recuperarse correctamente. La suciedad, la humedad, el calor y las condiciones estresantes dificultan mucho la recuperación de su piel. Necesita una casa de acogida con urgencia donde pueda recibir los cuidados que necesita. Su tratamiento incluye medicación, curas y mantenerlo alejado del sol hasta que su piel esté completamente cicatrizada. Una vez que su piel esté suficientemente recuperada, también necesita baños regulares, idealmente una vez por semana, para ayudar a eliminar las costras, seguidos de un secado cuidadoso. A pesar de todo lo que ha vivido, Cairo ha demostrado tener un carácter cariñoso y tranquilo. Además, recientemente ha encontrado una amiga en la perrera: una hembra con la que se lleva muy bien. Ha sido muy bonito verlo, especialmente después de un comienzo tan difícil. Sin embargo, creemos que estaría más feliz en una casa de acogida donde pueda recibir atención y cuidados individuales mientras se recupera. Cairo ha pasado por muchísimo y ahora necesita desesperadamente un lugar seguro y tranquilo donde pueda recuperarse. Esperamos encontrarle un hogar definitivo o una casa de acogida lo antes posible.
