Terms of use

The rescue is responsible for the information it publishes and for assessing, deciding and managing each adoption, including requirements, contracts and follow-up. Adoptia provides visibility and facilitates contact; matching is guidance and does not replace that assessment.

Profiles contain information supplied by rescues, not independent certification by Adoptia. Check health, behaviour and conditions with the organisation before deciding. This does not exclude Adoptia’s legal obligations arising from its own activities.

Adoptia is free for shelters, rescues, adopters and individuals, with no minimum term or exclusivity.

Sponsorships, donations and memberships are arranged directly with the rescue. Adoptia does not receive those funds or register memberships; the organisation must explain amounts, use of funds, terms and cancellation. Selecting interests or saving a favourite does not make a payment, reservation or adoption request.

Adoptia charges no commission on adoptions. Each shelter may set an adoption fee to help cover veterinary care, medication and upkeep, and receives that amount in full.

Organizations should provide accurate information, keep their data sheets up to date and comply with the applicable animal welfare, identification, health and transport regulations.

It is not allowed to sell animals, publish misleading information or use the platform for reproduction or trade. Adoptia may suspend content or accounts which do not comply with these conditions.
